01Ownership

Unless stated otherwise, everything that makes up the Service — the mobile app, its source and object code, user interface, design system, colour palette, iconography, illustrations, the voice-note waveform, screenshots, sounds, text and this website — is an original work owned by Ashlonk and protected under the Copyright Protection Law No. 3 of 1971 (as amended). Computer programs and databases are expressly protected works under that law.
Ownership does not require registration in Iraq; protection arises automatically on creation. Where we register a work or a mark, we do so for evidentiary purposes only.
02Trademarks
The names "Ashlonk" and "أشلونك", the three-dot-and-bowl mark, the app icon, and the "Your people, one tap away." tagline are trademarks of Ashlonk, protected under the Trademarks and Commercial Data Law No. 21 of 1957 (as amended) and by use. You may not use them — or anything confusingly similar — as the name, logo or part of the name of any product, service, company, domain, app or social-media account, or in any way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.
Other names and logos that appear on this site (for example App Store and Google Play) belong to their respective owners.
03What you may do
You do not need permission to:
- Use the Ashlonk app under the personal licence in our Terms and Conditions.
- Refer to Ashlonk by name in text — in articles, reviews, comparisons, tutorials, academic work or ordinary conversation.
- Show unaltered screenshots of the app to describe, review or teach how it works, with the name Ashlonk credited.
- Link to ashlonk.com from anywhere.
- Use the official logo files from our Marketing & Press page, as-is, to identify Ashlonk in press coverage or in an "available on" reference.
- Quote short excerpts of this website with attribution and a link, within the limits of fair quotation under Article 12 of Law No. 3 of 1971.
04What you may not do
Without our prior written permission you may not:
- Copy, mirror, scrape, republish or redistribute the app, this website or substantial parts of either.
- Modify, translate, adapt, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer the app, or build a derivative work from it, except to the extent Iraqi law expressly permits.
- Recolour, reshape, animate, crop or otherwise alter the Ashlonk logo or mark, or combine it with other marks.
- Sell, sublicense or commercially exploit any part of our copyrighted material or marks — including merchandise.
- Use our marks or design in a way that is misleading, defamatory, or associates Ashlonk with unlawful activity.
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or proprietary notice.
05Your content
You keep every right in the messages, voice notes, photos, files and other content you send through Ashlonk. We claim no ownership in it. You grant us only the narrow technical licence set out in the Terms — to transmit your content and hold it in end-to-end encrypted form while undelivered. You are responsible for holding the rights to whatever you share, and for respecting the rights of others: forwarding copyrighted material to people who are not entitled to it can infringe Law No. 3 of 1971 and is prohibited by our Terms.
06Open-source software
Ashlonk is built with the help of open-source software, each component used under its own licence (for example MIT, Apache-2.0 and BSD). Those licences govern the respective components and nothing in this notice restricts the rights they grant you. The full list of third-party notices is available in the app under Settings → About → Licences. Use of open-source components does not make the Ashlonk app itself open source.
07Reporting infringement
If you believe that material on ashlonk.com, or a public element of the Service — such as a group name, profile name or profile photo — infringes a copyright or trademark you own, send a notice to support@ashlonk.com with the subject line "Copyright notice" containing:
- Your full name, postal address, email address and phone number.
- Identification of the protected work or mark, and proof of your right to it (for example a registration certificate or the original work).
- The exact location of the allegedly infringing material (URL, screenshot, group name or phone number).
- A statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and your signature (electronic signature is valid under Law No. 78 of 2012).
We acknowledge every complete notice, act within a reasonable time, and inform the person concerned. Because messages are end-to-end encrypted we cannot see or remove the content of private chats; our measures are limited to public elements and to action on the account under our Terms. Knowingly false notices may expose you to liability under the Civil Code No. 40 of 1951.
08Counter-notice
If material you posted was removed or restricted after a notice and you believe this was a mistake, write to support@ashlonk.com with your contact details, an identification of the material, and a good-faith statement of why the removal was wrong. We will review the case and may restore the material unless the complainant shows that they have referred the matter to the competent Iraqi courts.
09Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly infringe the intellectual-property rights of others may be suspended or terminated under section 8 of the Terms and Conditions.
10Governing law
This notice is governed by the laws of the Republic of Iraq, including the Copyright Protection Law No. 3 of 1971 (as amended), the Trademarks and Commercial Data Law No. 21 of 1957 (as amended) and the Civil Code No. 40 of 1951, and by the Berne Convention and the WIPO treaties to which Iraq is party. The competent courts of Baghdad have jurisdiction. This notice is issued in Arabic and English; in case of any divergence, the Arabic text prevails.
